Papa Doo Run Run - AMERICA'S MUSIC ~ CALIFORNIA'S BAND
Papa Doo Run Run was formed in 1965 and since then they've been playing America's Music and now enjoys a legendary status as California's Band. They quickly discovered their niche - they sounded just like the group, The Beach Boys. Playing surf music, they soon met legends Jan and Dean and toured with them from 1976 to 1980.
Over the next 20 years, the group toured with members of the Beach Boys after their time with the famous Jan and Dean. They had an unheard of fifteen year run as "The Celebrity House Band" at Disneyland from 1975 to 1990. Their top forty hit called "Be True To Your School" was number one on the California Music Charts.
In 1985 they produced a groundbreaking CD entitled "California Project" and were listed on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart at number seventeen, earning their second Gold Record as well as a Grammy Nomination. The also appeared in and recorded the soundtrack to the movie "Deadman's Curve" on CBS.
Today they have seven CD's and a full length DVD. They still play approximately one hundred gigs each year all across the world. Their act includes all of the greatest and most Classic Rock hits or the sixties and seventies, emphasizing their award-winning versions of the Beach Boys songs. Their biggest secret - they're the band the Beach Boys call when they need a replacement for a gig!
